Teeth straightening can improve the appearance of crooked or overcrowded teeth

Can I have teeth straightening?

Teeth straightening procedures can improve the appearance of crooked or overcrowded teeth no matter what your age is. Many adults believe they had missed the chance to have straight teeth and a smile that they could be proud of. However, over the past few years there has been a large increase in the availability of teeth straightening procedures.

There are a variety of different teeth straightening procedures available and your dentist will be able to advise you on the best one to suit your needs.

Are there alternatives to ‘traditional’ wire braces?

There are now a variety of different teeth straightening treatments available. Although traditional wire braces are incredibly effective, it is now possible to use braces with tooth-coloured wires and clear brackets, or clear aligners to straighten your teeth.

Can I have a brace through the NHS?

Teeth straightening treatment is available to children under the age of 18, providing you meet the necessary criteria. Adults will need to pay privately for their teeth straightening. Here at Ringmer Dental we are pleased to be able to offer interest free finance to help you spread the cost of your cosmetic dental treatment, ensuring nothing is out of reach.

Will I need to have teeth extracted?

We will do everything possible to preserve your existing natural teeth, but if it is the best option, we may look to extract teeth. All of this will be discussed with you prior to treatment.

How long will my treatment take?

This will depend on each individual case, the degree of movement and the type of treatment you are having. The dentist will be able to give you a better idea once they have completed your treatment plan.
